Phishing: IRS Tax Refund

As Christmas apporaches, so does the Phishers with there schemes to get your information. Preying on the less fortunate in hopes to part them with their identity information. Yeah
Phishers can be quite the scum of the Earth.

This one comes with a Tax Refund just in time for Christmas:

  • The IRS will never email you that you have a refund.
  • Never follow links or disclose information for any shady links in emails.
  • Never execute any file attachments, even if they are questionable or stating there are issues with your bank account, etc. (Call your bank if you have a question or need to verify)
Just delete these types of emails stating or promising tax refunds, and as stated above if you have a problem or questions contact the IRS directly.
